The Opportunity: Senior DevOps Engineer 

As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will play a critical part in our platform’s infrastructure and deployment pipeline. Your expertise will be essential in designing, implementing, and maintaining our DevOps infrastructure, supporting our software development teams. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, you will drive automation, scalability, and security in all aspects of our technology stack.


Given that most of our team is in The Netherlands, we only consider candidates for this position who are currently based in the Netherlands within commuting distance to our office in Amsterdam.


What you will be doing in this role:

  • Designing, implementing, and maintaining our DevOps infrastructure.
  • Managing the deployment, automation, and configurations of our applications.
  • Establishing and sustaining comprehensive monitoring protocols for all elements within our infrastructure.
  • Collaborating harmoniously with the development and quality assurance teams, safeguarding our system’s robustness, scalability, and security.
  • Implementing and administering systems that proactively identify and resolve issues through vigilant monitoring and alert mechanisms.
  • Maintaining and improving our build and deployment processes.
  • Developing and maintaining comprehensive documentation of our systems and processes.
  • Mentoring and training junior team members of the DevOps team.
  • Staying up to date with the latest trends and technology in the DevOps area.

Job requirements

This is the right opportunity for you if you:

  • Have 5+ years of experience in DevOps or any related field.
  • Are proficient with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure or GCP)
  • Have experience with containerization technologies such as Docker.
  • Have a thorough understanding of infrastructure-as-code concepts and tools such as Terraform and CloudFormation.
  • Have experience automating the deployment, scaling, and management of containerized applications using technologies like Kubernetes
  • Have hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and related tools such as GitHub Actions, Gitlab or CircleCI.
  • Possess strong proactive problem-solving skills and can work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Hold excellent verbal and written communication skills (in English), to convey ideas and to facilitate discussions.


Our current tech stack

  • We are fully cloud-native, utilizing AWS. We adopt a Lean, API first product development approach leveraging cloud technologies and design practices.
  • Our web front-end applications are developed predominantly in Angular, using Django / Wagtail headless content management systems.
  • Our platform technologies, both microservice and AI, are developed in Python.
  • We also foster a rapidly growing expertise in knowledge graphs (Neo4j) and database technologies (SQL, NoSQL restful etc.). In addition, we develop human in the loop machine learning for healthcare in house, such as LLMs and other NLP techniques.
