The Opportunity: Engineering Manager

As an Engineering Manager at myTomorrows, you are responsible for leading our engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the development and delivery of scalable, high-quality software solutions that power our platform. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including Product, Design, and Operations, to ensure alignment with company goals and deliver innovative solutions for patients, healthcare professionals, and pharmaceutical partners.

Given that most of our team is located in the Netherlands, we only consider candidates for this position who live within commuting distance of our office in Amsterdam.


What You’ll do:

  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of software engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative culture.
  • Drive technical strategy and direction, ensuring the development of robust, scalable, and secure software solutions.
  • Collaborate with Product and Design teams to prioritize, plan, and execute product features and enhancements.
  • Ensure best practices in software engineering, including code quality, testing, documentation, and continuous integration.
  • Provide technical leadership in architecture and design, making informed decisions on tools, technologies, and processes.
  • Build and maintain a strong engineering culture that encourages experimentation, feedback, and continuous improvement.
  • Manage the performance, career development, and growth of team members.
  • Align the engineering team's work with business goals, ensuring timely delivery and high-impact outcomes.
  • Partner with recruitment to attract and hire top talent.

Job requirements

What you Bring to the Table:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field 
  • 3+ years of experience in software engineering
  • 2+ years in a leadership or management role.
  • Proven experience in managing engineering teams, driving results, and delivering high-quality software products.
  • Strong understanding of software development methodologies (Agile, Scrum, etc.) and best practices.
  • Experience with modern software development technologies, frameworks, and tools.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally and influence stakeholders.
  • A passion for working in a mission-driven organization focused on improving patient outcomes.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment is a plus.


Our current tech stack

We are fully cloud-native, utilizing AWS. We adopt a Lean, API first product development approach leveraging cloud technologies and design practices.

Our platform technologies, both microservice and AI, are developed in Python.

Our web front-end applications are developed predominantly in Angular, using Django / Wagtail headless content management systems. Our mobile applications are developed in Flutter (IOS and Android).

We also foster a rapidly growing expertise in knowledge graphs (Neo4j) and database technologies (SQL, NoSQL restful etc.). In addition, we develop human in the loop machine learning for healthcare in house, such as LLMs and other NLP techniques.
